Do we need certification for vegetarian/vegan/plant-based items?
Yes. Vegetarian/vegan/plant-based items need appropriate halal certification. Respectable retailers, distributors, and importers in the U.S., Europe, and other markets increasingly require formal Halal certification to guarantee there are no alcohol-based ingredients, non-Halal additives, or cross-contamination. Halal certification builds trust, meets buyer expectations, and ensures your products meet regulatory compliance in the U.S. and abroad.
Can we claim "halal "without certification audit?
Regulations require businesses to properly get audit before making a halal claim on products. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), specifically through its Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), oversees the use of halal labeling on meat and poultry products. The USDA FSIS requires that any use of the terms "Halal" or "Zabiah Halal" on labeling must be certified by an appropriate third-party authority. State regulations also protect proper labeling through halal certification. NY, NJ, IL, TX, CA, MI, VA, MN are some of the states with regulations protecting halal integrity.
How does your halal certification audit work?

What is the cost of your halal or tayyib certification?

What is halal in food, supplements and personal care industries?

Produce, vegetable, fruits, wheat, lentils, fish are few examples of items that are Halal by nature. Under the Islamic Law, following sources including their products/ingredients and derivatives are prohibited and considered unlawful, known as Haraam.
